In progress! A proposal to bring the underwater Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary experience to downtown Savannah is underway. Trace was brought in to help envision how a downtown warehouse housing a former Donut shop could be retrofitted to provide an underwater experience currently available only to scuba diving researchers. This underwater sanctuary area is one of the only designated no-take zones in the region, which makes Gray’s Reef ideal for scientific research, ocean noise, hurricane prevention and climate change.
