Exhibition Concept | Urban Engagement | Ocean Stewardship
This proposal envisions bringing the underwater world of Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary into the heart of downtown Savannah—extending access beyond scientific diving communities to new urban audiences. Working with NOAA, TRACE Design Group explored how a former warehouse and donut shop could be transformed into an immersive, research-informed marine environment. As one of the region’s few protected no-take zones, Gray’s Reef supports critical study of ocean health, soundscapes, storm resilience, and climate systems. The project translates scientific discovery into public experience, connecting community, ocean, and stewardship through proximity and awareness.
