Exhibition Design | Urban Interpretation | Maritime History
Developed in collaboration with architects, developers, the Boston Planning Commission, and the Boston History Collaborative, this project interprets Boston’s maritime history through the living artifact of its waterfront setting. The Battery Wharf Maritime Museum and Harborwalk signage program trace more than 350 years of city life—through the stories of sailors, soldiers, bakers, lighthouse keepers, ferry captains, and shipbuilders.
Within the museum, light and subtle wave imagery create atmosphere, while a 37-foot live oak timber anchors the space as both artifact and gathering place. The outdoor Harborwalk panels have been called “the most beautiful and informative signage on Boston’s Waterfront.”
